OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
Greg Herd is the Operations Coordinator for Rise Football. He is a
Tacoma native. He played high school football for Steilacoom in
Washington State. After high School he went on to play collegiate
football for Eastern Washington University. At Eastern he was
selected as an preseason All American. Herd help Eastern Washington
win a FCS Big Sky Championship in 2012. After college, Herd signed as
a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2013 upon completed his senior
campaign, he was eventually released by the team and then signed by
the hometown Seattle Seahawks. Herd suffered a shoulder injury which
led to him being released that day. In August of 2014 Herd was signed
to the Chicago Bears and competed throughout training camp and was
released and eventually brought back to serve as a member of the
practice squad for several weeks.
Herd loves giving back to the youth. He is currently a P.E. Teacher at
First Creek Middle School. He also serves as the Offensive Coordinator
for the Steilacoom Varsity football team. Football has been an
integral part of his life for many years. Once his pads were hung up
for good, he used his knowledge to give back. Over the years, he
learned a craft and built skills through tons of endless hard work and
dedication, however the life lessons and character building that
football has given him with go unrivaled and are the areas in which
he wishes to instill in our youth.
