DEFENSIVE BACK COACH
Chris Martin is the Db’s coach for Rise Football. A native of Coney
Island (Brooklyn) New York. Martin was a 4 sport Varsity Letterman For
Lincoln High School in Coney Island. He was elected to the all-borough
and all-city teams in New York. He was also named the MVP of the city
of Brooklyn as well as the MVP of the Brooklyn All-Star game. After
playing high school football, Martin went on to play football at San
Francisco Community College where he help lead them to a national
championship. After SFCC, he went on to play football for Washington
State University. After WSU, he went on to play in the CFL and AFL as
an Defensive back. In his first year with the Grand Rapids Rampage he
was nominated for the all rookie team after stints in the CFL and AF2.
He lead the Rampage in tackles and set a pair of franchise records
when he returned three kickoffs for touchdowns in one game. ESPN
picked him as the return specialist on its mid-season All-AFL team.
Martin loves working with the youth. Football has taken him all over
the United States and has taught him many valuable lessons. He
continues to give back the knowledge he has learned and many football
techniques.
Martin is the father of 3 sons, Chris Jr., Jaydn, and Gavin.
