ASST. PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Marcus Yzaguirre (Iz) is the assistant program director for Rise
football. He is a Seattle/Federal Way Native. Coach played high school
football for Thomas Jefferson High School under Buddy Bland. Prior to
leaving for the College of Siskiyous to play football, he coached one
year as the J.V. Offensive coordinator for for Thomas Jefferson High
School. He attended Washington State University and received his
bachelors in communication.
Iz has been coaching football since 2004. He coached with the Federal
Way Hawks youth organization in 2004-2006. In 2006 he was hired as the
Dean of Discipline at Federal Way High School where he began coaching
high school football. He helped lead the Federal Way Football teams to
2 league championships and in 2012 was nominated Tacoma News Tribune
Offensive coordinator of the year. In 2013, he was hired as an
Language arts teacher and was brought on as the offensive coordinator
position at Auburn Riverside High School under Bryant Thomas who also
was coached at Federal Way High School. In 2013, Iz helped lead the
Auburn Riverside Ravens to their first ever league champion status. He
was also named SPSL assistant coach of the year in 2013. In 2017, Iz
helped lead the Ravens to their second league champion status. In
2018, he was hired as the Head football coach for Auburn Riverside
High School. Coach Iz also coaches basketball and track. He has won a
2 state championships as the head track coach for Federal Way High
School and has had a sprinter in state for the last 13 years.
He loves giving back to youth. Football has been an important aspect
of his life and has helped him achieve many goals. He uses the sport
of football as a vehicle to help teach the youth life lessons.
He is engaged to Antaknea and they have 1 daughter Cataleiya. They are
expecting a boy in December 2018.
